These are good suggestions. What can we do as a group ? Can we arrange a demonstration in DC ?
We are currently trying to work with the government and not go against it It might prove counterproductive. We as a group need to expand further. Strength is also in the numbers. While we are only 5550+ we represent half million people stuck in the greencard process. We need to reach out to all those people and get their support.
Each individual here on the forum pls. try to connect with your friends who also share our plight and urge them to become members.
Pls. post IV posters in your local grocery stores, temples and restaurants.

If you are an alumni of a US university, connect with your student organization so that they can post info about Skil Bill on their listserv. This bill affects all the US educated international students too and getting those students as members would strengthen our organization.
When you do something, please post it on the forums so that others can know and do the same.

I know this is not a good question as there is no time frame for GC process?
But please share your experience;

It is just depeneds on luck.
My friend Who applied in EB3 after me will be applying for citizenship next year while I am waiting for my I-485.
Another one same company , eb2, same credential as me , later receipt Date, applied after me in eb2, got his GC five months back.
But please share your experience;

concentrate on IV Rally instead....guys..
Who has gained any solace from Calling USCIS....
the tier 1 2, or 3 or Tier N at USCIS know nothing......
All we know ...there is bound to be delays...ther e will always be a few lucky ones getting receipts and stuff in a months time....but most of us like the GC process itself will be backlogged again....for receipts now....
I suggest we make IV our horse and ride it to end the problem at its source rather than calling USCIS and hoping for an Update from themmmm
They would already be pissed at us due to VB July restoration...
So attack the problem at the source.

I came here as student and OPT before, the OPT had a A number
In my approved I-140 i had a A number, both the numbers are different
While filing the forms for 485/EAD/AP and I-693 ( medical report ) i saw a field for A number
Which number must i put in the field

You can get SSN is you could provide a proof that it is required for taking an exam or license. You need to show that the process requires and also get a letter from the license issuer that it required to issue a license.

We are in AOS pending status. I am on EAD.
After seeing the economy I am planning to send my wife to India. She is pregnant (2 months). Now I have job and in future if I get into any trouble with project Etc.. I need to pay the medical insurance and will have lot of financial issues.
How difficult is to bring new infant to US from India while our AOS is pending and apply 485. (Visitor visa Etc..)
Any suggestions.

Since you are not on H1 visa status anymore, child can not get H-4 visa to enter into USA. Your child must get immigrant visa as follow-to-join. Immigrant visa can be issued only when your PD is current. You will need to file I-824 with USCIS. (Link for I-824 (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-824.pdf))

Part of the problem is the employers do not have a long term plan for their companies. They are always on look out for a fast buck. If employee satisfaction and client satisfaction are more, the company has better chance of growing. Typically when the client is satisfied, the company gets more projects and this way the set-up costs like relocation, travel expenses come down. Companies can not break the law just because they are not able to make a profit.

Thanks, I can see from your profiles your priority dates are 2006. If my first GC effort (Perm in Mar 06) would have worked out i would have been along with you. I still hold approved I-140 (EB2) from my first PERM. I have to wait till i get this new PERM approved and I-140 approved to port priority date. My lawyer says to port priority date to the new I-140, the new I-140 has to be approved i am not sure about this... after i get this new PERM approval, is it possible to port my priority date along with new I-140 application? or should i have to wait for new I-140 approval.

There is no need for you to have an actual copy of the I-140. I am assuming that you want to have the documents to prevent the current employer doing any 'harm' - intentional or otherwise to your case.
AC21 states that as long as the 140 has been certified, the current employer cannot do any thing if the employee leaves.
I am NOT sure about this next point, but even if the 140 is revoked by the employer the LC and PD stay valid.
Make sure you have the receipt #s, and check the status on the USCIS website. Once 140 is certified, you are golden.
Hope this helps.
